Club Rules

Welp, no one likes rules, but we're so laid back, we've gotta have a tiny bit of structure to keep everyone in line.

Rules for the upcoming year are changed/updated at the classic weigh-in and will NOT be altered during the season.

1. Club Membership is $25 per year. Each paid member is eligible for one guest per year. You cannot use your guest pass on your first tournament, you must have PAID for one previous tournament (Opens do not count as a paid tournament, unless you placed in the money and had membership fees deducted from the winnings). A guest may only fish one tournament as a guest. If a team with a guest places in the money, the guest will become a member and the membership will be deducted from the winnings.

2. Tournament fees will be $60 (includes $10 big bass) per boat, per day. All entry fees must be paid 20 minutes prior to take off, so tournament director has ample time to launch.

3. Each team will draw a number after paying entry fee.  The Tournament Director, or member(s) designated by the TD, will conduct the launch/livewell checks. Teams will line up single file in order of draw number and pass the launch boat at idle speed with livewells open. If a team passes the launch boat out of order, they will be sent to the back of the line. It is at the Tournament Director’s discretion to make changes to the launch procedure for safety reasons as well as other factors that will benefit the majority of the club.

4. Trailering is allowed, but you must notify the Tournament Director when paying your entry so you can have your livewell checked. Anyone trailering to another ramp must wait until the first boat takes off on plane before leaving.

5. All Federal, State and Local laws apply.  If any party on your team is cited, during the tournament, by law enforcement for violations of applicable laws you will be disqualified from the tournament and your entry fees forfeited.

6.  Life Jackets must be worn while the boat is on plane with kill switch attached.

7.  Only Largemouth, Spotted ( Kentucky ), and Smallmouth bass will be weighed.  The minimum length for all fish will be 12 inches, unless local lake regulations state a higher minimum length.  Lakes with slots limits will be strictly enforced, for Caddo Lake a slot of 14 – 18 inches will be observed.  Therefore; only fish over 12 inches and under 14 inches, and fish over 18 inches, will be legal on Caddo Lake .  Any short or slot fish brought to the scales to be weighed will be penalized 8 ounces (.50 lbs) and the fish will not be counted toward total weight.  All fish will be measured on a “Professional Golden Rule”.  You may check your close fish on the official bump board before turning you bag over to the tournament director for official weighing.

8. Maximum number of anglers per team (boat) is two. There will be a maximum of 5 fish per team (boat) brought to scales for weigh-in.  This way if a person decides to fish by themselves, they are not penalized for doing so.  If a lake has a maximum limit of 4 fish over the slot, per angler, then a single angler may not violate State regulations and may only weigh 4 fish over and one under for that tournament…whereas a boat containing 2 anglers may bring in 5 fish over the slot.  If a single angler brings more than his allotted limit of “over” fish to the scales, then his largest fish will be culled and will be penalized an additional 8 ounces from his total weight of the remaining 4 fish.

9. No live bait or trolling with big motor.

10. No alcoholic beverages consumed until weigh-in is final.  No illegal drugs will be tolerated.

11. Teams should be at the launch/weigh-in site by tournament ending time or they will receive a 1 pound per minute penalty and will be disqualified after 10 minutes. Do NOT bring your fish to the scales until weigh-in begins. Weigh-in starts 10 minutes after tournament ends. This will give the TD time to setup, reduce fish stress, allow time for pics, etc. ALL FISH MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE WEIGH-IN IN A WEIGH-IN BAG WITH ENOUGH WATER TO ALLOW YOUR FISH TO FLOAT.

12.  There will be an 8 ounce (.5 lb.) penalty for dead fish. Do NOT throw dead or injured fish back in the water.  This promotes a negative image to the public by club members and will not be tolerated.

13.  Respect must be given to the other anglers regarding their fishing areas, no fishing within 50 yards of another angler without their permission.  We will all have a ribbon on our trolling motor distinguishing who is fishing the tournament.

14.  Team will be ineligible to fish any tournament if either team member has guided or hired a guide on a tournament lake within 30 days prior to tournament date.  Being a co-angler in a major tournament trail (greater than $400 co-angler entry fee) will fall under the guidelines as a guided trip.

15. All Tournament Director decisions are final. A protest for rule violations must be made to the Tournament Director prior to money being awarded to the winning team. If it is a problem regarding the weight of a fish or bag of fish, the protest must be made prior to the fish in question being returned to the lake. No dead fish will be returned to the lake, we must preserve a positive impression to the public.

16. The Tournament Director has ruling in dangerous conditions.

17. All entry fees will be placed in the Classic fund if no fish are caught by any team.

18. The winner takes all money if only 1 team catches fish

19. Payout for all 1 day tournaments: 1-5 boats is 100%; 6-10 boats 60%, 40%; 11-20 boats 50%, 30%, 20%; 21-30 boats 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%; 31 or more boats 35%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 5%.  All payouts will be rounded to the nearest $5, so as to keeping from paying out small bills/change, a copy of the payout schedule will be available for teams to inspect. There will be one big bass paid at 100% of big bass pot on 1 day tournaments and one big bass paid per day at 50% each for 2 day tournaments. Two day tournament will pay out for double the number of boats entered since it will be a double entry fee ($60/day), example:  15 boats in the two day will use the payout schedule for 30 boats (40/30/20/10).

20.  All membership fees go into the Classic pot and at the last weigh-in of the regular season the membership will vote on the Classic lake format (one or two days) and the Classic lake.  The membership will be given payout numbers, with both format options, and vote accordingly.  This will be done before the Classic lake is voted upon, since this will affect which lake is chosen.  The Classic payout will be:  1-10 boats is 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%; 10+boats is 35%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 5%.  There will be one big bass paid per day, 50% for 2-day format and 100% for 1-day format.

21.  There will be no money in the treasury after the classic tournament. All membership fees will be put into the classic pot. The classic payout should be a very nice payday.

22.  The classic lake will be off limits at dark the Sunday before the tournament.

23.  To qualify for the classic you must have fished 5 tournaments before the classic.  You may pay for 1 tournament without having to attend and have it count towards your 5.  You must make arrangements to pay the tournament director before the tournament.

24.  No prefishing is allowed after the day 1 weigh-in at a 2 day tournament.

25.  Optional 7lb pot - $10 entry per Boat. At least 1 person in the boat has to be a member and have fished one tournament in the present year. If the balance is ZERO, any member can enter. If no one catches a 7lb.+ fish, the balance will be carried over to the next tournament.  If there is a balance after the last regular tournament, it will be added to the classic pot.  If the fish in question is dead, .5 pounds will be subtracted from its weight.  If a team with a fish in question is late to weigh in, they will receive a 1 pound per minute penalty towards the fish in question and will be disqualified after 10 minutes. Tournament director has final determination on the legality of a fish in question.
